Experiencing the Action and Shooting with RATCHET and CLANK FUTURE Game

Ratchet and Clank Future showed that Insomniac was not going to let Ratchet and Clank go the same way of Spiro, in that when the next generation hit, become forgotten and only get weak releases. No way, Tools of Destruction showed that the series was going to stay relevant into the next generation. But as great as the game was, the ending really left fans wanting more.

Everyone knew that Insomniac had something in store, but to hold fans over, they released Quest for Booty, a downloadable PSN game that brings all the Ratchet and Clank action but in a smaller package. Well that is not really fair to say, because the game is not a watered-down version. Instead, it is simply a shorter version.



 It still packs the same Ratchet action that fans have comet expect, with its own story to boot. Ratchet is on a quest to find some robot booty, heist looking for Clank who has disappeared with the Zone. The story suffers from middle child syndrome, in that it doesn't really have a beginning or an end, but is simply a connection between two larger stories.

But it keeps your interest the whole way through. And it doesn’t feel like a quick hashed, weak attempt to cash in but a real story with the voice actors and everything. But the game is a legitimate Ratchet game, played from third person perspective and having good focus on action. The game also has a big emphasis on puzzles. These are some of the best parts, because of how it mixes things jump. But the bread and butter of Ratchet and Clank will always be the plat forming, jumping, and action and lovingly, that is all here and is as wonderful as everyone thing that does need mentioned is the size of the game. The game play does clocking at just around three to four hours.

But the game does come with a discounted price to match. And while the story and game play may not feel as grand as the other games in the Future trilogy, that could be more of a statement about the epicenes of those games and not jab at this. While other games are full meals, this is a sweet little Ratchet and Clank treat. It’s not the biggest or best, but it does belong in the fantastic series.
